How to remove hyperlinks in Excel 2007

Posted: Friday, February 6th, 2009 by admin

In Excel 2007, you can remove all the hyperlinks in your worksheet at once, with a few easy steps.  This comes into use when you cut and paste information into Excel, and you have too many hyperlinks to just right-click and select remove hyperlink.

Here's how to remove them all at once:

1.  Press [ALT]+[F11] to open the VB Editor

2.  Click on Insert | Module

3.  In the window that opens, enter the following:

     Sub RemoveHyperlinks()
     'Remove all hyperlinks from the active sheet
     ActiveSheet.Hyperlinks.Delete
     End Sub

4.  Click File | Close and Return to Excel.  You have now created a macro.  The next step is to run it.

5.  In Excel 2007, select View | Macros | View Macros

6.  Select “RemoveHyperlinks” and click Run

7.  All the hyperlinks should now be gone from your spreadsheet.
