HP Manufacture Date from Serial Number

Posted: Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 by admin

Have you ever wanted to know when your HP machine was built? It can be difficult to find this information via the website, maybe even impossible, unless you don’t mind finding the Live Chat support and working with them. I can say that they were very helpful, but the process can be very time consuming. Thanks to the support engineer I spoke to, I found a way to get your build date from the serial number itself! Here’s how: In the serial number from left to right 4th number shows the Manufacture year and the next two digits will says the Manufacture week. So in the serial number 2CE7340B9L you see that the machine was built in the 34th week of 2007. This may or may not have practical applications for you, but it least gives you something to work with!
