Multiple iexplore.exe processes running in Windows 7 IE 8

Posted: Monday, May 18th, 2009 by Amy

I tend to not reboot my machine that often, instead I hibernate when going between work and home. This causes me to have TONS of iexplore.exe processes running in my task manager and it starts to affect my performance. I know you can right click each instance and select End Task but who wants to do that for 40 processes? Here is the way to do it in just one step. Copy this command into a batch file and run it whenever you need to do some cleanup. It will remove ALL iexplore.exe processes at the same time!

taskkill /F /IM iexplore.exe /T
