If you commonly use any of these file types, you may not want to exclude them!):.jpg, .gif, .bmp , .png, .aac, .aiff, .mp3, .wav, .wmv, .mov, .mpeg.CrashPlan PROe Reduce Costs 6

  6. Click the “Update User” button at the bottom of the page to apply the change.

Setting Version Storage Limits

One more way to save space is to limit the number of versions of a file that can be saved. This is a very useful feature because it allows you to recover deleted files or recover from mistakes in editing a file.  As with the file types, you will want to pay close attention to whether or not your employees constantly change files. Lanlogic Backups will only keep a new version of a file if a change has been made to the file in the time span that has been configured for your organization.  It does not make duplicate copies of unchanged files.

  1. Log in to the Lanlogic Desktop Backup Site with an organization administrator user account
  2. Click on “Devices” in the left window pane.

  6. Under “Frequency and Versions,” you have several options to limit deleted item retention and the quantity of versions stored for your organization.  Lanlogic recommends the settings displayed below.  It’s often a good idea to keep deleted items for at least 7 days as a precaution.  Move the horizontal scroll bars to change your selections.
