Add Postini to Outlook 2007 or 2010

Posted: Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 by natalie

This will help Outlook 2007 and 2010 users that want to monitor their quarantine during the day. The following will show you how to check your Postini Quarantine while still in Outlook, with no need to go to Postini’s site and login.

1) Open Outlook
2) Right-click on Inbox and select New Folder
3) Call the folder “Postini Quarantine” or “Postini-Spam” (or whatever you chose to name it).
4) Right click the new “Postini” folder and select “Properties”.
5) Select the “Home Page” tab in the Properties window.
6) In the address window type the following URL and select the checkbox labeled “Show home page by default for this folder”:
7) Click “Apply” and “OK”.
8) Click on the Spam folder, login to your Message Center and optionally, select “Remember my Address and Password”
9) Close Outlook

The next time Outlook is opened and the Spam folder is selected, the Message Center should appear within the new Outlook folder that was created.

Outlook 2010 is not remembering the password. Or the email address. At least IE remembers the email address whether you store the password or not. So it’s clearly blowing everything out or not setup to cookies.

Same here, then when I closed outlook, and started again, it had remembered the credentials.

Very clever and handy. Was looking for a toolbar, but since there doesn’t seem to be an Postini Outlook toolbar plugin, this is a handy option. Thanks for posting.
