How to Set Up the Apple Mail Client on a Macintosh Computer

This article explains how to setup Mac Mail for Lanlogic Hosted Exchange 2010 using the native mail client on your Macintosh computer. If you already have a Lanlogic account set up in Mail, you will first need to remove your existing email account.

How to Remove an Existing Account

Open the Mail application.

From the Menu options, select Mail and then Accounts

In the Internet Accounts Window, click the account you want delete your old email account by clicking the minus “-” button at the bottom left of the window.

How to Add an Account to Mail

Open the Mail application.

From the Menu options, select Mail and then Accounts

In the Internet Accounts window, click  the Exchange page, click the Exchange button to add a new Exchange account.

Next, enter your preferred display name into the Name field along with your Email Address and Password. Next, click Continue.

You will be prompted to verify a certificate.  This is okay and expected.  Click the Continue button.

Next, you will will see an overview of your account settings.  Click Continue to proceed.

The next screen shows the available options to synchronize.  We recommend enabling all checkboxes.  Click Done to proceed.

At this point you may close the settings window and return to Apple Mail.  Please note that synchronization will take time based on the size of your mailbox and Internet connection.
