Exchange 2010 Control Panel User Guide

User Guide for Exchange 2010 Control Panel

 

Add a new User

1.  Select the Users tab
2.  Select Add new service User

3.  Fill out Display Name, Login, Password and Confirm Password
4.  Select check boxes for Exchange and Microsoft Lync 2010 and select Next

5.  Select the check boxes for Outlook Web Access, Outlook access, and ActiveSync, and select Next

Create Distribution Group

  1. From the Exchange tab, select Distribution Lists tab

  2. Select Add New Distribution List
  3. Enter Alias, Display Name, Email Address, and select Submit

Edit Distribution Group

  1. From the Exchange tab, select Distribution Lists tab

  2. Select the Distribution List you want to edit

  3. Select the Members tab.  Select Add New Member to add someone to distribution list
  4. Select the Mailbox or Contact you wish to add and select Submit

  5. The screen will show that the member has been added, and next to the member the status will show Creating

  6. To remove a member from a Distribution List, select the member, and select Delete

  7. You will see a confirmation screen.  Select OK

  8. Now the screen shows that member is scheduled for deletion

  9. You can also change who the distribution list can accept messages from by selecting the Security tab and selecting Edit

  10. Select the correct radio button to accept messages from Everyone (default), Organization or Members.  Select Submit

  11. You can also assign alias email addresses to the distribution list email address.  Select the Email addresses tab, and select Add New Email Address

  12. Type in the email address and select Submit

  13. Finally, you can grant send permissions to mailboxes for the distribution list.  Select the Permissions tab, and select Grant Permissions

  14. Under the Send permission column, select the drop down box.  You have unassigned (Not Assigned), Send As, and Send On Behalf permissions.  Select Submit.

  15. The screen will show the new permissions.

  16. To remove the permissions just granted, select the members’ checkboxes, and select Revoke permissions

  17. A confirmation message will appear

  18. Select OK.  The screen will show the permissions revoked

Add External Contact

  1. From the Exchange tab, select Contacts tab

  2. Select Add New Contact

  3. Fill in Alias, Display name, and External e-mail address fields, and select Submit (You can assign an email address to this contact, and these will automatically forward emails)
  4. The screen will show confirmation that the contact was created

  5. To remove an external contact, just select the contact and then select Delete

  6. A confirmation message will appear.  Select OK

  7. The screen will show the contact has been deleted

Forward an Email address

  1. From the Exchange tab, select Mailboxes

  2. Select name of mailbox you would like to forward by clicking on the name under the Display Name Field
  3. Select the Forwarding tab, and select Enable

  4. Enter in Email address and select Submit

  5. The screen will confirm the configuration change

Change Mailbox Limit Size

  1. From the Exchange tab, select Mailboxes

  2. Select name of mailbox you would like to forward by clicking on the name under the Display Name Field

  3. Select the Limits tab, and select Edit.  Make the necessary changes to mailbox sizes and select Submit

  4. Select Update Size

  5. Confirmation message will appear

Change Mailbox Delivery Restrictions

  1. From the Exchange tab, select Mailboxes
    Forward Email Address
  2. Select name of mailbox you would like to forward by clicking on the name under the Display Name Field
  3. Select the Limits tab, and select Edit.  Make the necessary changes to Delivery Restrictions and select Submit

  4. Select Update Size

  5. Confirmation message will appear

Change password

 

  1. From the Users tab, select name of mailbox you would like to change the password by clicking on the name under the Display Name Field

  2. Select Change Password

  3. Type Password in both Password and Confirm Password fields, and select Submit

Add Service

  1. From the Users tab, select name of mailbox you would like to add a service to by clicking on the name under the Display Name Field

  2. Select Add Service.  Note:  if you have already added all of the services, the Add Service button will NOT show

  3. Select the check box of the service you wish to Add (Microsoft Lync 2010) and select Next

  4. For Lync, you need to select the type Lync 2010 User – IM, and select Next

  5. Select Finish

  6. Confirmation message appears

Delete Service User

  1. From the Users tab, select name of mailbox you would like to delete by clicking the check box next to the name under the Display Name Field
  2. Select Delete

Disable User

  1. From the Users tab, select name of mailbox you would like to disable by clicking on the name under the Display Name Field

  2. Select Disable
    Disable User
  3. The screen will confirm the disabled account

Delete Mailbox

  1. Select the Exchange tab
  2. Select the user you wish to access by checking the box next to the Display name column

Change Mailbox Access

  1. From the Exchange tab, select name of mailbox you would like to access by clicking on the name under the Display Name Field

  2. Select Edit

  3. Check on uncheck various services (OWA, Outlook, ActiveSync, etc.) and select Submit

  4. The screen will show that the Mailbox properties have been updated

Download Lync 2010 software

  1. From the Microsoft Lync 2010 tab, select the user you wish to access by clicking on the name under the Display Name field

  2. Select to Open the download you need
